A 48-year-old businessman shot twice in the upper body while sitting behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce in Hollywood was today identified as property manager and philanthropist Kameron Segal.
Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Scott Murray said Segal was in critical but stable condition and was expected to survive.
He was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after the shooting, police said.
Segal was shot as he waited in his vehicle for someone who was to drive with him to downtown Los Angeles to purchase a $5 million building, a friend told reporters at the scene.
The shooting occurred in a parking alley behind the 7600 block of Sunset Boulevard at 8:40 p.m. Friday.
Police said Segal appeared to have been targeted by his assailant, who rode away from the scene on a 10-speed bike after shooting Segal in the chest and face.
LAPD Officer Raymond Conboy described the suspect as a black male in his late 30s or early 40s who was 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and was wearing a blue jacket, tan pants and was carrying a backpack.
Segal, who was in a silver Rolls Royce with paper plates, was identified in news reports a property manager and philanthropist who heads up the firm William Holdings Property Management & Acquisitions.
