A 23-year-old man was shot to death in the unincorporated Lennox area of Los Angeles County, authorities said Monday.

It happened in the 4100 block of West 105th Street around 9 p.m. Sunday, said Deputy Kevin Moody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

“According to witnesses, the victim was in the process of moving his car off the street when another car drove up,” Moody said. Two men believed between 20 and 25 years old confronted the victim “wanting to know if he was a gang member. One of the suspects started struggling with the victim. During the struggle, the second suspect shot the victim,” the deputy said.

The suspects took the murder weapon, got into a dark sedan and drove away eastbound on 105th Street, he said.

“The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” Moody said.

Anyone with information on the shooting was urged to call homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be made on the Crime Stoppers line at (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or on the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
