A  man who was shot and killed while inside a car in South Los Angeles was identified Thursday as 18-year-old Keion Coleman.

The victim’s 16-year-old brother, the driver of the vehicle, was in critical condition after the shooting, which occurred around 4:50 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Denker Avenue and 68th Street. Their vehicle, a Kia sedan, crashed into a fire hydrant after the shooting.

The older brother died at the scene, said Los Angeles Police Officer Liliana Preciado. An 11-year-old boy in the back seat of the vehicle was unhurt, KCAL9 reported.

Police are searching for a white SUV driven by a man with a woman passenger, ABC7 reported.
