Police chased a stolen car suspect in the South Los Angeles area for about 45 minutes Thursday and arrested the motorist when he surrendered.
The chase began about 1:15 p.m. near 85th Street and McKinley Avenue, Los Angeles police Officer Drake Madison said.
The suspect led officers on a circuitous route along surface in the South Los Angeles and Watts areas. At one point, the car slowed, two people jumped out and the vehicle kept going.
At about 2 p.m. the suspect stopped the car on 116th Street near Stanford Avenue in South Los Angeles.
The driver, who appeared to be a man, surrendered without further incident and was taken into custody.
It was not immediately clear if the people who jumped out of the car were taken into custody.
