A West Covina man pleaded not guilty Thursday to starting a fire in a restroom at a Walnut restaurant.
David Lin, 42, is charged with one felony count of arson of property of another.
Prosecutors allege that he set a toilet on fire Feb. 3 at Ten Ren’s Tea Time.
A restaurant customer who subsequently entered the restroom noticed the fire and authorities were called, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Lin was arrested later that day.
He is due back in a Pomona courtroom Feb. 19 for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial.
If convicted as he is charged, Lin could face up to three years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
