Airborne Los Angeles firefighters rescued two injured hikers in separate incidents on Saturday.
A woman suffered an unspecified extremity injury while hiking in rugged terrain in Griffith Park and was airlifted from the scene in serious condition and taken to a hospital about 12:05 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department‘s Erik Scott said.
About 90 minutes later, a 25-year-old man who fell and suffered possible broken bones while hiking in the area of Murphy’s Ranch in Pacific Palisades was also hoisted into a helicopter and taken to a hospital, Scott said.
The man’s condition was serious, he said.
