Two young men were killed Sunday when their 2002 Chevrolet Camaro went off the side of the road and about 50 feet down an embankment.

The crash was in the vicinity of Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road. It was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 4:03 a.m.

The Chevy was southbound on Sierra Highway when the motorist, a 19-year-old man from Acton, lost control and allowed it to go over the embankment on the east edge of the road, according to a news statement from the California Highway Patrol.

The driver and his passenger, a 21-year-old man from Acton, died at the scene.
