A woman was killed and her husband wounded in a stabbing in the Harvard Heights section of Central Los Angeles, police said Monday.

Police were called to the home in the 1700 block of South Hobart Boulevard at 5:55 p.m., said Los Angeles Police homicide Lt. John Radtke.

“They found a woman with fatal stab wounds blocking the inside doorway of her residence,” Radtke said. “Officers cleared the residence and found a man with serious stab wounds lying in the bedroom. He was transported to a hospital and taken to surgery and is expected to survive.”

The man’s vital signs were reported to be stable.

The circumstances leading up to the homicide were not immediately determined, Radtke said. There was no suspect in custody and no suspect description.
