A Metrolink train went off its tracks about 220 yards north of Union Station Tuesday, causing about 100 passengers to have to walk into the station.
The mishap occurred at 4:55 p.m. as the train, coming in from the north, went off its tracks near Vignes and Bauchet streets, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The passengers were escorted off the train by firefighters. No injuries were reported, said the LAFD’s Erik Scott.
The train derailed as it went from one track to another at a relatively slow speed, Metrolink’s Scott Johnson said. There are 14 tracks coming into Union Station, according to Johnson.
The derailment was causing some delays, Johnson said.
A crane would be used to get the train back on its tracks, Johnson said.
