Los Angeles County Firefighters Wednesday put out a non-injury fire that badly damaged a house in Covina and displaced the family living there, authorities said.

Los Angeles County building and safety officials were called to the single-story residence in the 19600 block of East Greenhaven Street to determine if it remained habitable after the fire was knocked down around 12:10 a.m., County Fire Supervisor Michael Pittman said.

It took 45 firefighters around 20 minutes to knock down the blaze, he said.
