A sheriff’s deputy fired a round at a suspect in Altadena Thursday, but no injuries resulted.
The shot was fired near the intersection of North El Molino Avenue and East Sacramento Street around 12:20 a.m. as deputies responded to a report of a person breaking into cars in the area, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Darrin Walker said.
Walker said the shot was fired after deputies encountered a person fitting the description of the suspect. The shot missed and the suspect then complied with deputies’ commands and was arrested, Walker said.
The firing of the shot was being investigated, Walker said.
The sheriff’s department did not immediately disclose what prompted the deputy to open fire.
