A pedestrian who may have been intent on suicide was fatally struck by a pickup truck in Palmdale, authorities said Wednesday.
Dikkii Nunley, 48, of Palmdale, died at the scene of his injury, which occurred near the intersection of East Palmdale Boulevard and 20th Street East around 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s department and the coroner’s office.
According to the preliminary investigation, Nunley kneeled down on the pavement and was hit by the vehicle, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The case was being investigated as a possible suicide, he said.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Frank Quichocho said the driver was not detained.
