Four people, including a 5-year-old girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday when a vehicle struck pedestrians at a Glendale bus stop.

Six people were at the bus stop at the intersection of San Fernando Boulevard and Sonora Avenue when the crash happened about 5 p.m., said Glendale police Sgt. Robert William.

The driver of the car was in a lot that is slightly above street level and he steered the vehicle forward instead of backing out of his spot, William said.

The car lurched out of the lot, over the sidewalk and into the bus stop, he said.

Four adults sustained minor injuries, while the girl, who was the most seriously injured, suffered an injury to a leg. All five were taken to a hospital for treatment, William said.

A fifth adult who was at the bus stop remained at the scene and was not taken to a hospital, William said, adding that the driver was not cited.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to play a part in the crash, William said.
