A motorcyclist was killed during a crash that tied up freeways from central Los Angeles to Burbank and beyond Saturday.

The crash was on the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway at Mission Road, near Lincoln Height. It was reported to the CHP at 9:47 a.m.

The crash involved the motorcyclist and another motorist, with the bike eventually striking the center divider.

A representative from the Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene at 10:41 a.m.

Emergency responders had difficulty reaching the wreck, as traffic blocked all access on the southbound freeway as it approached the San Bernardino (10) Freeway interchange.

Lanes were gradually reopened starting at 12:05 p.m., but the constriction caused serious delays on the 5, 110, 2 and 134 freeways, all the way into Burbank, Glendale and South Pasadena.
