An attempted murder case was dismissed Tuesday against an Encino man who was accused last year of trying to kill a man in Griffith Park.

“After a thorough review of the evidence, we made a determination that this case could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” Greg Risling of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said of the case against Tyrone Isumu.

Police said last year that Isumu, now 55, and the alleged victim were both known to frequent a homeless encampment in the area and became involved in a dispute on Nov. 3. Isumu was accused of attacking the man with a rock and steel trash can.
