A 19-year-old man suspected of threatening his father with a machete at a Littlerock home was in custody Tuesday, authorities said.
Deputies were called to the home in the 10500 block of East Avenue S-6 on the east side of Littlerock about 7 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Adam Ellison of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Palmdale Station.
First the father said the man swung the machete at him, then that the man held the machete over his head, Ellison said. The father was outside the home when deputies arrived.
It was believed the suspect had been drinking alcohol, the lieutenant said. Deputies decided to negotiate with the man and wait. He surrendered to deputies after about four hours later and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
