A 25-year-old Temple City man was in custody Wednesday on suspicion of carrying out an assault at an ATM machine, authorities said.
The 79-year-old victim of the assault was left unconscious and was hospitalized as a result of the attack, which occurred in the 9500 block of Las Tunas Drive in Temple City around 7 p.m. Saturday, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Trina Schrader said.
The victim was using the ATM machine when the suspect, Eric Clayton Khun, confronted him for no apparent reason, Schrader said, adding the victim lost consciousness after Khun pushed him to the ground and was kicked and punched.
Schrader said Khun was arrested at his home Tuesday.
