A 26-year-old transient who tried to strangle herself while jailed in Pasadena remained hospitalized Tuesday in critical condition, police reported.
Paramedics sent to the Pasadena jail at noon Monday took Margarita Perez to a hospital, said Lt. Tracey Ibarra of the Pasadena Police Department.
Perez had been in custody since Friday, when she was arrested after a short pursuit and booked on suspicion of grand theft, felony evading and two outstanding arrest warrants, according to police.
