Police seek the public’s help in locating a hit-and-run motorist in a pickup truck who struck and killed a woman in North Hollywood.

The woman, about 50 years old,  was struck about 8:30 p.m. Friday on Saticoy Street near Irvine Avenue, Los Angeles Police Officer Jane Kim said.

She was crossing southbound Saticoy Street when she was struck by the vehicle, according to a news statement.

LAPD Capt. John McMahon told reporters at the scene the woman was wearing dark clothing and was in an unmarked pedestrian crosswalk when she was struck.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white, late model Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Valley Traffic Division detectives asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (818) 644-8116.
