Lady Justice 3 16-9

A Carson man pleaded no contest Tuesday to voluntary manslaughter for gunning down his younger brother last year in their mother’s backyard in Compton.

Dion Landry, 45, got into an argument on Nov. 16 with his 25-year-old brother, Davion Branch, at their mother’s home. He left the residence, then returned with a gun and confronted Branch in the backyard, according to Deputy District Attorney Lee Orquiola.

Landry told sheriff’s deputies that he had shot his brother when taken into custody soon afterward.

A murder count filed Nov. 18 is expected to be dismissed at his March 23 sentencing at the Compton courthouse. He is facing 15 years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
