Long Beach police said Wednesday that a man has been exposing himself to girls walking to school and has tried to grab several of them.

Detectives, who released a composite sketch of the suspect and a photo of the car he drives, said there have been six reported flashings since Feb. 11 within an area bounded by Coronado Avenue and Euclid Avenue, between Seventh and 10th streets.

All of the incidents occurred between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m., most recently on Tuesday, police said.

The man sits in the passenger side of a parked vehicle with his pants down, exposing himself and sometimes masturbating as young girls walk by. He has called out to the girls, attempting to get them to come closer to him, according to police.

In one incident, he parked near Euclid Avenue and Seventh Street between 8:45 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. and called out to two children. As they walked by, he opened the door and tried to grab one of the girls, but she was able to run away, police said.

The suspect is described as white, 24 to 35 years old, with brown hair. He was wearing a black shirt and black “Dickie” pants on at least one occasion.

His car, which was seen in video surveillance footage, was described as a white sedan with tinted windows.

Anyone recognizing him or his vehicle was asked to call Long Beach sex crimes Detective Adriana Jaurigui at (562) 570-7372.
