Investigators Thursday were searching for the brother of a woman in her 30s who was found shot to death in a San Gabriel area home where a 13-year-old boy believed to be the woman’s son was found suffering from minor injuries.
Deputies responded about 6:40 a.m. to a shots fired call in the 5100 block of Rosemead Boulevard and found the woman suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“She was pronounced dead at the scene,” Deputy Sara Rodriguez said.
The boy — believed the woman’s son — was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries described as minor, Rodriguez said.
Sheriff’s officials said they believe the killing was the result of a domestic dispute, and identified as the suspected killer as the woman’s brother, 31-year-old Johnny Goins, who remained outstanding tonight.
“Detectives are actively pursuing the suspect, and encouraging him to turn himself in,” said sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Rouzan.
