A man allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend at her San Pedro home Monday then took off with their year-old son, prompting a statewide Amber Alert.

The boy — Jayden Nathaniel Santiago, who is 24 inches tall and weighs 26 pounds — was taken by his father, Giovany Santiago-Enriquez, 37, following the 1:30 a.m. stabbing, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Santiago-Enriquez is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black beanie, black sweater, black Dickies pants and gray and black Nike shoes.

He was driving a 2006 gray Nissan Altima with the California license plate 5UCF010.

Jayden Nathaniel Santiago was wearing a light brown and green sweater, green and brown striped Onesie, and black and white Nike shoes.

The father and son have not been seen since the stabbing, according to the CHP, which said he has threatened suicide and has attempted suicide in the past.

He could be traveling to Mexico, Oregon or Washington, where he has acquaintances, CHP officials said.
