Fire damaged four units at three separate apartment buildings in Van Nuys, a fire official said Sunday.

Firefighters were dispatched at 9:39 p.m. Friday to 5659 Halbrent Ave., where there were five separate, two-story vacant structures in close proximity, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Three of those structures were involved with the fire. Two units at 5703 Halbrent Ave., one unit at 5702 Halbrent Ave. and one unit at 5700 Sepulveda Blvd. sustained fire damage, Scott said.

It took 45 firefighters 34 minutes to put out the fires. No injuries were reported and a cause of the fires were under investigation, he said.
