A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The accident occurred at Vermont Avenue and 83rd Street about 6:25 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Liliana Preciado. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Her name was not immediately released.
The motorist remained at the scene, Preciado said. The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
