Nineteen men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution in a sting in Pomona, authorities said Wednesday.
The Pomona Police Department’s Major Crime Task Force Unit focused on the East Holt corridor on Tuesday because prostitution has been a problem there, said Sgt. Brian Hagerty.
He said other stings will be held in other parts of the city plagued by prostitution.
Personnel from several other police departments, including San Bernardino, Montclair, Azusa and Glendora, participated in the operation, which “was conducted to address the quality of life issues associated with prostitution and in response to the numerous complaints received from residents and business owners,” Hagerty said.
Anyone wishing to report such activities was encouraged to call the task force at (909) 620-2148.
