A woman believed about 40 years old was hospitalized in critical condition on a ventilator with head trauma after she was struck by a car that kept going in the Hancock Park area, a police sergeant said Monday.

It was reported at 10:44 p.m. Sunday on Wilshire Boulevard at Hudson Avenue, Los Angeles Police Traffic Sgt. A. Mariano said.

The woman was considered a Jane Doe because she had no identification and no one had gone to the accident scene or hospital looking for her, Mariano said.

The suspect vehicle was identified only as a dark sedan, he said.
