Authorities on Wednesday searched a rugged area near where a car was found crashed in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora, but found no victims.

A passerby spotted the crashed vehicle about 100 feet down an embankment from Glendora Mountain Road near Glendora Ridge Motorway and notified authorities shortly before 9 a.m., said county fire Inspector Chris Reade.

Rescuers searched for possible victims, but called off the effort shortly before noon after concluding that the wreckage was old, and there were no victims at the site, the fire department reported.
