A Los Angeles police motorcycle officer was injured Wednesday in a collision with a car.

The crash occurred about 9 a.m. at Pico Boulevard and Tremaine Avenue, said Los Angeles police Officer Jack Richter. The officer, whose name was withheld, was conscious when taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, police said.

As of 1 p.m., a condition report had not been released.

The motorist who was behind the wheel of the Toyota Prius that collided with the motorcycle officer remained at the scene and was interviewed by police, Richter said. The driver was uninjured.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
