A 2-year-old girl who went missing in Gardena Thursday afternoon was found in Cudahy and police believe she was abducted.

Stacy Lopez had last been seen at 4:55 p.m. in the area of 149th Street and Western Avenue, according to Gardena police.

She wandered away from her mother at a self-serve car wash, Gardena Police Department Chief Ed Medrano told reporters at the scene.

The girl’s mother heard her daughter call to her and then she was gone, Medrano said.

The child was dropped off about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Santa Ana Street and Atlantic Avenue in Cudahy and taken to a hospital to be examined, said Gardena police Lt. Steve Prendergast.

Her condition was not disclosed.

Police believe Stacy was taken and dropped off by someone in a white four-door 2008-1012 Nissan Altima. No suspect information was immediately available.

Anyone within information about the case was urged to call 911 or Gardena police at (310) 217-9670.
