Authorities Friday released a composite drawing of a man wanted for assaulting and robbing a 19-year-old woman at a Metro Green Line station in Inglewood last fall.
The crime occurred about 9 p.m. Nov. 3 at the station in the 11200 block of South Acacia Street.
According to the sheriff’s department, the woman was walking on the lower level of the station when a man hit her from behind and pulled at her purse, which was strapped around her shoulder.
“While struggling, the suspect continuously punched her in the face and kicked her several times in the torso,” a sheriff’s statement said. “The assault caused the victim to fall to the ground.”
The man then stole the victim’s cell phone and fled. The woman, whose name was withheld, was treated at a hospital for serious injuries.
The suspect was described as Hispanic, 25-30 years old and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dark hair.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call sheriff’s detectives at (213) 922-3649, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
