Authorities Tuesday released the name of a 3-year-old boy who drowned in a residential swimming pool in Valencia.

Aydenn Navarrette died at a hospital after being transported from a home near Grandview Drive and Woodfield Place around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to coroner’s and sheriff’s officials.

Sheriff’s Lt. Derek Sabatini told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal that the boy was supposed to have been watched by underage family members, and had been left unattended for about 30 minutes before being discovered.
