A man who attempted to escape after being shot in the Gramercy Park neighborhood crashed his vehicle on the Harbor (110) Freeway early Saturday.

The victim told police he was shot near the intersection of South Hobart and Century boulevards at 2:40 a.m., Los Angeles Police Sgt. Cory Meisner said.

The victim then drove onto southbound lanes of the 110 before crashing his vehicle into the center divide, Meisner said.

The victim was hospitalized and expected to survive, Meisner said.
