A man was struck by a freight train in Lancaster early Saturday and died at the scene.
The pedestrian was struck just north of the Lancaster Metrolink station, near the intersection of Sierra Highway and West Lancaster Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol online incident log.
It occurred at 1:55 a.m.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. David Grall said the victim’s death was believed to be accidental, rather than suicide, but was still under investigation.
