Officers on Sunday found a man shot dead on a sidewalk in Downey.
The body was found by officers dispatched at 2:47 a.m. in response to a 911 call of a person shot in the area of Woodruff and Nance avenues, said Downey police Lt. Mark McDaniel.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, McDaniel said.
“It appears this was not a random act and that the victim was targeted,” the police lieutenant said, adding that police had no suspect information.
