Police circulated a composite drawing Tuesday of a man who tried to kidnap a 22-year-old woman from a Pasadena residential neighborhood.
The attempted abduction occurred about 10 p.m. April 17 near Marengo Avenue and Tremont Street, said Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres.
He said the suspect drove alongside the Pasadena resident and attempted to engage her in conversation.
“When the victim ignored him, the suspect exited his vehicle, chased after the woman, and struck her,” Torres said. “He then forced her into his vehicle, but the victim was able to fight off the suspect …”
The Pasadena woman jumped out of the SUV, then ran for help, Torres said.
The man was described as black, in his mid- to late 30s, with a dark complexion, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing around 200 pounds. He had a shaved “shiny” head, a round face and bushy eyebrows, and was driving a gray, newer-model Honda CR-V or similar SUV.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call Detective Edgar Sanchez, (626) 744-6418; the dispatch office, (626) 744-4241; or Crime Stoppers, (800) 222-TIPS.
