The daughter of a 60-year-old Los Angeles woman who hasn’t been seen for five weeks, and whose boyfriend is also missing, appealed today for public help in locating her mother.
Aqueelah Dixon fought back tears as she said, “I just want her to come home.”
Zakiyyah El A’min was last seen about 1 p.m. March 23 with her 48-year-old boyfriend, Kevin Walker Jones, who “has a history of domestic violence and assault,” the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
“We’re concerned about her well-being … (and) we’re hoping that we find her alive and well,” LAPD Detective Salaam Abdul of the Robbery Homicide Division told reporters at a mid-morning news conference outside police headquarters.
The woman and her boyfriend had an “on-again, off-again” relationship over a number of years, Abdul said.
El A’min is black, 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
Jones is black, 6 feet tall, weighs about 200 pounds, and has a shaved head and brown eyes.
El A’min was reported missing after she failed to show up for work on March 24-25, the LAPD reported.
“Mr. Jones (was) seen moving out of his residence in the early morning hours of March 24 … and his whereabouts are unknown,” according to an LAPD statement.
Jones may have fled to the Buffalo, New York, area, according to police, who also want to find an unidentified man and woman seen on security video removing items from Jones’ apartment on March 28.
