A woman is expected to be brought to court Monday to face a charge that she helped her teenage son conceal his girlfriend, a 13-year- old runaway, at their home while police and the girl’s family searched for her.

Wilma Brooks, 38, was booked shortly before midnight Thursday at the Pomona jail, with bail set at $40,000. She and her son were both booked on suspicion of concealing a child from the parents, according to Pomona police.

Katherine Vance ran away from her Pomona home on April 18 — the second time this month she was reported missing — and was found safe Thursday at the home of Brooks and her 17-year-old son, the Pomona Police Department reported.

The girl was found hiding under her boyfriend’s bed, police said. She was initially reported missing on April 5, but was found the next day with the same boy, whose name was withheld because he’s a juvenile, according to Pomona police.

The boyfriend was transferred to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, and the girl was turned over the Department of Children Services.
