A vegetation fire in Koreatown burned two automobiles and a trash bin Saturday, but firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a garage and nearby church.

No one was hurt in the blaze at 158 S. Madison Ave., which was reported at 1:43 p.m., Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

Thirty-six firefighters responded and knocked down the flames in 20 minutes, Scott said.

At one point, the fire department reported that the flames were threatening an apartment complex.
