A man who held a former girlfriend, another woman and a man hostage in a Westlake district home was in custody Monday after a nearly 2 1/2-hour standoff with a Los Angeles Police SWAT team, police said.

Officers were dispatched at 7:06 p.m. Sunday to investigate reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, Los Angeles Police Lt. Craig Heredia. The unidentified man barricaded himself in the 200 block of Carondelet St., the lieutenant said.

A SWAT team made quick entry into the residence “when officers received information one person was in immediate danger,” Heredia said.

There were no significant injuries, he said. A firearm was recovered.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, Heredia said. The investigation was continuing.
