Gardena police Thursday took a burglary suspect into custody and were searching a small shopping center for other possible suspects.
Officers went to DD’s Discounts in the 2400 block of Rosecrans Avenue about 5 a.m. on a report of a possible burglary, and detained one person, Gardena police Lt. Steve Prendergast said.
A SWAT team was summoned to search that business and others in the shopping center for other possible suspects, an effort that was continuing about five hours later, Prendergast said.
The businesses were ordered to remain closed while the search was conducted, Prendergast said. Traffic in the area was not affected.
