A 45-year-old man on leave from his teaching job at Kranz Intermediate School in El Monte was arrested on charges of having “inappropriate physical contact” with four juveniles, authorities said.
The investigation of Marcos Miguel Bowers began April 2 when El Monte Police first learned of the case, said Sgt. Richard Luna of the El Monte Police Department. Bowers was placed on leave at that point.
Bowers was arrested Friday when he was interviewed at the El Monte Police Station, booked for lewd acts with a minor and freed after posting bail.
Bowers, a Covina resident, is scheduled to appear in Pomona Superior Court on July 9.
Anyone with information on the case was asked to call El Monte Police Detective Eric Walterscheid at (626) 580-2172.
