At least one person suffered major injuries Friday when two big rigs collided in Diamond Bar, closing down parts of two freeways for several hours, authorities said.
The collision occurred near the Grand Avenue exit around 1:20 a.m. along a two-mile stretch where the eastbound Pomona (60) and northbound Orange (57) Freeways merge, the California Highway Patrol reported.
All lanes except the carpool lane were closed while crews worked to clear the scene. By about 7 a.m., all lanes except the right two lanes had been reopened, and by about 7:45 a.m., all lanes were open once again, the CHP reported.
It was not immediately clear how many people required hospitalization. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
