Police warned Southlanders Friday that a man has been selling fake Disneyland tickets on Craigslist.

“The suspect uses Craigslist to sell Disneyland tickets for almost half the price,” said Los Angeles Police Officer Jack Richter. “The victims contact him, and they meet in the downtown Los Angeles area.”

The suspect offers to have the victim take pictures of his driver’s license, which is probably fake, Richter said.

On March 11, an unsuspecting buyer purchased 30 tickets from the man for $1,600. On March 23, another individual bought six tickets for $500. And on March 17, another victim lost an undisclosed sum in the scam. In all the cases, the tickets were not honored when the victims tried to use them at Disneyland.

The same man may have sold fake Disneyland tickets to several people in November 2013, Richter said.

Anyone with more information on his identity or whereabouts was urged to call detectives at (213) 996-1859, or (877) LAPD-247.
