A man wanted on a Ventura County warrant was taken into custody in Lancaster early Friday afternoon following a several-hour standoff with deputies.

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s Special Weapons Team was sent to the 43600 block of Park Avenue about 7:30 a.m. to assist Ventura County deputies in serving the warrant, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The suspect surrendered about noon, after deputies used tear gas at the location, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana. It’s unclear why he was wanted in Ventura County.

No injuries were reported.
