A 27-year-old man wanted on two outstanding parole violation warrants in Pomona was arrested again Sunday for reportedly hitting his girlfriend in the lips with a gun.
The victim, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment, Pomona police said.
Officers were dispatched at 7:32 a.m. regarding a domestic violence call in the 1600 block of Rosebud Place. The suspect, Mario Soto, fled the location and into a hill area adjacent to the residence, according to a police report.
Later in the morning, Soto returned to the home, as did police. A perimeter was set up and officers saw him jump over a fence.
He tried to hide under a bush, but was ordered out.
Soto, who already had two outstanding parole violation warrants, now faces likely charges of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, police said. He was held in the Pomona city jail.
