Palmdale Sheriff’s Station detectives asked Wednesday for the public’s help in identifying two young men who stole thousands of dollars from a Walmart store.
The robbery occurred May 4 about 11:40 p.m. when the suspects broke into a “cash cart” at the store at 37140 47th Street East, said Deputy Jodi Wolfe.
By the time Walmart employees realized the money had been taken, the suspects were running toward the exit, according to Wolfe.
Wolfe said one of the store’s employees stationed himself in front of the exit doors in an attempt to keep the suspects from getting away. But one of them hit him, causing him to fall to the ground, and they fled with the money.
Both suspects were described as black men about 18 to 22 years old and weighing 175 pounds, Wolfe said. One was 6 feet tall with short black hair and was wearing a blue hoodie and black shorts.
The second suspect was about 6-foot-2, with curly black hair and wearing a black sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about the heist was asked to call (661) 272-2474.
