One drunken driver was arrested at an overnight driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Pico Rivera on Sunday that netted 21 arrests for other offenses.

The checkpoint on Whittier Boulevard, just west of Paramount Boulevard, began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended at 3 a.m. Sunday, said Sgt. Daniel Dail of the sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail.

One motorist was arrested for drunken driving, another motorist for driving under the influence of marijuana and a suspect was arrested for knowingly allowing an unlicensed driver to drive, Dail said.

One suspect was arrested for a $30,000 traffic warrant and sent to court.

Also, seven motorist driving with a suspended or revoked license was arrested and sent to court and 10 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court, he said.

Six vehicles were impounded for 30 days and a vehicle was stored for one day during the checkpoint, he said. Also, one stolen vehicle was recovered, Dail said.
