A man has been booked for DUI after his vehicle crashed into a house in El Sereno, police said Saturday
It occurred in the 5500 block of Allan Street at 10:35 p.m. Friday, Los Angeles Police Sgt. S. Bailey said.
The suspect had been involved in an earlier hit-and-run collision in Alhambra, and was being followed by the driver of that vehicle, according to the sergeant.
That driver “kept his distance”, Bailey said.
At a T-intersection with Allan Street, “he didn’t see that the road stopped, and he kept going”, Bailey said of the suspect.
A videographer at the scene said the vehicle ended up in the living room of the residence.
Bailey said the occupant was not hurt, but the structure had been yellow- tagged by the Los Angeles City Fire Department, meaning the house was damaged but habitable.
The suspect was hospitalized with minor injuries, Bailey said.
