A man was wounded in a deputy-involved shooting along Metro’s Orange Line in Lake Balboa on Monday.

The shooting occurred in the area of Victory Boulevard and Densmore Avenue about 5:48 p.m., said Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

KCAL9 reported that the shooting occurred when a sheriff’s sergeant at the driveway to an Orange Line parking lot had an encounter with the suspect.

A witness told the station he heard one gunshot, and then saw the man drop. The sergeant said the suspect brandished a weapon.

The station also reported the suspect’s injuries were not life threatening.

A second man was detained, the station reported.
